Flight over Orakei

'Flight over Orakei' was inspired by all the wonderful native birds we have inhabiting our wetlands. There is a walkway in Orakei which beautifies and protects these natural reserves so people and the bird/ plantlife can live harmoniously. This was painted when I returned from Japan. The heron (flying) is a symbol of Japan as the koru painted over Rangitoto island is a symbol of the Maori energy in the land.

Painted in acrlics on canvas.
